GoodGo app for bicycle theft prevention and incentivising sustainable mobility

GoodGo promotes sustainable transport by encouraging users to use eco-friendly modes of transport (bicycles, public transport) and offers bike theft prevention through RFID-based tracking. It rewards users with eco-credits for adopting sustainable travel habits, making it a dual-purpose tool for sustainability and security.

Description of the tool

GoodGo is a mobile app, which has users attach RFID tags to their bikes, to track their movements and earn eco-credits for using green transport.

Available for iOS and Android devices, the app is widely accessible

How it works: inputs and outputs

Inputs:

  • RFID tags attached to bicycles for tracking.
  • User’s GPS location and transport mode (bicycle, public transport).

Outputs:

  • Real-Time Bike Tracking: Alerts the user if the bike is moved without permission.
  • Eco-Credits: Points earned for using sustainable transport modes, which can be redeemed for rewards.
  • Security Alerts: Notifications for bike theft, helping users recover their bikes.

Examples of use

Partnerships: EcoGeko has worked with Uisp Nazionale and the City of Livorno for programs like “SportPerTutti” and “Bike&walk2beach” that use the GoodGo app to monitor and reward sustainable travel.
