Low Emission Zones (LEZ)

Designated areas in urban centers where access is restricted to vehicles that meet specific emissions standards. These zones are designed to reduce air pollution, improve air quality, and promote the use of cleaner, more sustainable transportation options. LEZ policies often encourage the adoption of innovative technologies and solutions that ensure fair access to urban areas while minimizing environmental impact.

Application

Low Emission Zones (LEZ) are implemented in urban areas with high traffic density to reduce emissions and improve air quality. They restrict access for older, more polluting vehicles, fostering a shift toward cleaner transportation options. Certain EU countries have already implemented regulations that made the implementation of LEZ mandatory for certain cities.
